<td>The Auckland Provincial History Index was prepared in the 1950's for a centennial history of the Auckland Province, which didn't eventuate. The index includes detailed references to contemporary newspapers for the 1840 to early 1850's period, and references to manuscripts, jury lists, the Auckland Police Census and published material. The project ceased in 1957 and there have been no updates to the sources used.</td>
